If your tooth is damaged or decayed and can’t be repaired with another restorative treatment, your dentist may decide to remove the tooth as a last resort. Your dentist will talk through all your options with you during your dental consultation. However, when your tooth can’t be repaired often the removal of the tooth of concern may be the best option for you. After the extraction your dentist will advise the best post-extraction treatment for yourself. Should you have any post extraction concerns please see the post extraction advice leaflet below.
